1 - 20 - 09

Being Canadian, I fully endorse the use of a Parliamentary form of government. If you ever turn on C-SPAN during a slow period (can you actually imagine a slow period of time on C-SPAN?) you may be lucky enough to watch a live glimpse of Canadian Parliament. Boring, no doubt, but there is something Americans can learn from watching this. Notice the back-benchers taking naps, being generally distracted, and at the right time actually heckling and jeering what the speaker has to say (maybe even in French!).

Why can't the Americans adopt this?

I understand at hear the country is a Republic and not a Constitutional Monarchy, but the people in Congress (and maybe even the senate?) need to be taken down a notch! I would pay money to see people like Nancy Pelosi get booed out of Washington for the nonsense that spews forth from her mouth.

Boo, I say, boo.

A couple of comments about last night's VP debate: (1) that had to be the worst debate moderator ever, (2) I did like Biden's tie, (3) firey as she is, Sarah Palin managed to hold her ground but just seems out of her league, and (4) why couldn't they just trade blows and call each other names like we all wanted them to?
