Today was my first day back at school. Not school school, but journal orientation. Orientation started at 9 am which was the same time that "Law Camp" (i.e. law school orientation) started for 1Ls. So I made my march up to school from the parking lot with a bunch of 1Ls and I secretly hoped that they did not think I was a 1L -- I'm not sure what would distinguish me from them (I had a bookbag, they had a bookbag, I had a travel coffee mug, they had a travel coffee mug), but maybe I'd look a bit wiser or more weathered (doubtful, very doubtful -- I was wearing a green seersucker blouse, vineyard vines golf tote, a coffee mug which was pastel blue, pink and green paisley, and huge sunglasses -- I was like Georgia's answer to Legally Blonde with less pink and no Reese Witherspoon). However, I have made an amazing discovery!!! This morning, whilst walking around the basement of the library near the Law Review office, I discovered another refrigerator with microwave, toaster and....drumroll please....a sink!!! I opened the refrigerator and it was clean and empty (the same cannot be said about the fridge in the student lounge which starts to get gross around Fall Break), so I slipped my lunch box, claiming my spot. Did I mention there is counter space? Oh it is an amazing discovery which will likely affect my lunching habits for the next two years!!
Sometimes it's the little things that really make a difference.
