Hurricane Ida Brings Her Wrath to the Mid-Atlantic

Here's the current radar map for Eastern Virginia. You can't tell, but Williamsburg is buried in that green somewhere. Plus, lucky for all of you, I have mastered screen shots all on my own. No big deal.

So I just got this e-mail from the college provost. Should I be worried? I mean, the wind's blowing pretty hard, but I don't think the building is coming down anytime soon. But note the "Importance: High" line

The weather conditions in the region are deteriorating. In the interest of safety, the College of William and Mary is cancelling all classes, starting at 4:00 PM today, with the exception of the School of Law, where classes will be held up to 6:00 PM. The Library will close at 8:00 PM this evening. Supervisors are encouraged to accommodate employees’ needs to leave campus, starting at 3:00 p.m. today. Please check with your supervisor or instructor if you have any questions. The College expects to operate under normal hours tomorrow, Friday.

That's right, Bill and Mare buckle to no tropical storm downgraded from a hurricane.
