Here is my ultimate Christmas music list:
- Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy: Bing Crosby and David Bowie (seriously awesome combination)
- Baby, It's Cold Outside: James Taylor and Natalie Cole (I love all renditions of this song, even the Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey duet, but I love all things Natalie Cole ever since Unforgettable)
- Please Come Home for Christmas: Keith Anderson (country version of this song that gets stuck in my head)
- All I Want for Christmas: Mariah Carey (obviously)
- White Christmas: Otis Redding (also obvious)
- I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus: Jackson 5 (it took me kind of an embarassingly long amount of time to realize that the father is in fact Santa in this scenario)
- Nuttin' for Christmas: Sugarland
- Blue Christmas: Porky Pig (a crowd favorite -- my dad and I loved this song and my grandfather used to ask me to play it)
- Christmas in Dixie: Alabama (Charlie called me on his way home yesterday and proceeded to sing the entire song to me -- enough said)
- Go Tell It on the Mountain: Bill Mallard (okay, you don't know Bill Mallard, but he sings the "warm up" for my church's Christmas Eve service every year and really brings the house down with this one)
- Christmas Day: Dido
- Silent Night: Johnny Cash (just haunting)
- Carol of the Bells
- I Pray on Christmas: Harry Connick, Jr.
- Grown-Up Christmas List: Michael Buble (Like Harry Connick, Jr., Michael Buble was just meant to sing Christmas songs)
- Happy Christmas (War is Over): John Lennon
- What Are You Doing New Year's Eve: Bette Midler
