Fragil-e. Must Be Italian.

It was a project, but we finally got our tree decorated!  Our Christmas Five has surpassed all of our other trees, by 3 feet in fact.  This year we got a 9 footer!  Our tallest tree ever!  Currently, it has 18 strands of lights, all multicolored, varying in size from small to extra large. Also, the lower 2 feet of the tree don't have ornaments because Hadley's wagging tail tends to knock them off (we've lost many Christmas ball ornaments that way).  Without further ado, here are some pictures of our tree (and yes, the star is crooked and out of proportion to the rest of the tree).

In all its technicolor glory.
Here are some of our favorite ornaments.
One of our more fragile ornaments.
Trippy mushroom.  One of my parents' old ornaments.

We got this on our trip to Banff (obviously) in Summer 2008.
Ornament we bought in Highlands, NC when we got engaged.

Duckhunter. Charlie loves him.
Here is our makeshift mantle (and yes, You've Got Mail is playing on the tv -- what? I just finished finals).  From the left, that's Hadley's stocking, my stocking, Charlie's substitute stocking because we don't have his yet.  Looks like I'll be able to just fit a Cross pen and a small grapefruit in it (hi Dad).  Also, if you look closely below our lovely mantle, you'll see bobblehead Charlie Brown and Hadley.  I've never really thought about it, but I guess I should have one too.  Surely, there's a "Yes, Virginia" bobblehead out there?
Most of our Christmas decorations are hand-me-downs, which I like because it reminds of the decorations at my parents' house.  I've also been able to get some from Charlie's family as well.

One of my mother's million nativity scenes.  It's, um, unique.

Granny Santa.Wife (Charlie's grandmother) gave him to us..
That's it for now! Technically, it was a snow day today (Charlie stayed home from work because the roads were bad), but I would not be deterred from taking my real estate tax exam.  Thankfully, Gloria Todd, office admnistrator extraordinaire also would not be deterred from administering said exam.  In honor of the snow, Charlie and I going to watch White Christmas (we recorded it on AMC).

Be back soon with Hadley pictures!

You make me smile! I love that you have items from your childhood. The stocking is just like my brothers and sisters. Mom had changed styles by the time I came along so mine is different from everyone elses. And what's Christmas morning without grapefruit and walnuts in your stocking, right? Hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas!!
