Greetings From Atlanta

Hiiiiiiii!

So Charlie has done a great job keeping up the blog lately (now I know why he was asking me about our plans in June last night). Bar review is obviously not fun, but it's a necessary evil, and I'm just trying to slog through it. This week is particularly less fun since I have class on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to my Monday-Friday classes. Oy.

As you probably already know, this summer has been really busy for -- moving from Virginia, buying a house, graduating from law school, starting a new job, starting to study for the bar. Not to mention the important stuff, like pooltime, grilling, Braves games, playing golf, and beach trips :) We're starting to get into a bit of a rhythm for the summer, and Charlie and I really trying to make time for relaxation and fun activities since we're back in Atlanta.

Okay, so this isn't technically in Atlanta, but still...
Here's a likes/dislikes list for you, Atlanta Summer 2011 Style:

Likes
  • Our new bed: Since we're having visitors this summer, Charlie and I decided to get crazy and get a new bed for us. After testing out several beds for "F.P." (flop potential -- my own term), we decided on a king bed (extra like for the fact that they sold it to us at the contractor's discounted price). It's amazing -- extra bonus is that Hadley doesn't like jumping on this bed because it's a bit higher off the ground and she's a chicken.
  • Dekalb Farmer's Market: Charlie and I bought 1 head of cabbage, 1 bunch of cilantro, 2 bags of mixed greens, 3 lbs. of apples, 3 lbs. of limes, green onions, alfalfa sprouts, and hungarian paprika for $8 this weekend!
  • Big Green Egg: The chicken and pork Charlie smoked this weekend was life changing. Literally. Life. Changing.
  • My tan: Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am returning to the days of yore when I actually had a decent before June 1st.
  • Medlock Park:  We have such nice neighbors and a really great trail to walk Hadley on.
  • Apricot Fruit Leather (if you can't tell, we've come to the food portion of our likes list)
  • Starburst Jelly Beans: always a favorite
  • The Original El Taco & Watershed
Dislikes
  • Barbri Lecturers: Using your "game show voice" during lectures does not make commercial paper or real property any more interesting. TRUST ME.
  • Emory Law Library: Dear Emory, It is unreasonable to require students to drink all liquids out of a preapproved sippy cup. Quit taking your library that seriously -- it's not the Louvre.
  • Ticks: not on me, on the dog
  • Cigarette smoking indoors: Seriously people, cigarette smoking inside has a lasting effect on your house -- just ask our new refrigerator or linen closet.
  • Cheese Curds: blech -- Charlie has discovered them at the farmer's market and is thrilled
