Panchito and Marty McFly

Charlie's birthday was on Tuesday. I offered some suggestions for going out to eat or staying in and ultimately, Charlie decided he wanted to go to L.L. Bean and have Mexican for dinner. So, we hit the outlets (Brooks Brothers and L.L. Bean) and then went to dinner to split fajitas.

We're regulars at our Mexican restaurant (something which Charlie is very proud of), and I told them that it was Charlie's birthday, secretly hoping that sombreros would be involved.
Well, my plan backfired on me because they came out with sombreros. Yes, sombreros plural...as in two sombreros: one for Charlie and one for me. Just so you know, sombreros are heavy! They sang Happy Birthday to Charlie (aptly nicknamed "Panchito" for the evening) and instead of the customary free dessert, Pancho Villa gives out birthday tequila shots to which they have added grenadine. Then they shake it up and it becomes this pretty pink color :)

Afterwards, we headed home to watch Charlie's movie pick: Back to the Future. I forwent my nightly Olympics watching to get the back story on Doc and Marty McFly (we watched Back to the Future III the previous weekend -- Charlie says it the worst one).
