The picture of the new digs posted the other day is for our new shop location. Currently we're crammed into a ~3000 sq ft. space that makes working efficiently very difficult. My boss started the company early last year and after frantically finding a space he plopped all the equipment in the shop without much thought to processing and work flow just to start producing. That's about to change.
On Tuesday, hopefully, our new lease will be signed and sometime in the next sixty days we'll begin the packing up process and move further up the street. A couple cool items to note about the move are that with the economy being how it is large spaces are opening up for less rent than we're paying now (which is cool for the company). Secondly, with the moving process I get to drive a forklift to move around our heavy equipment (which is cool for me).
There have definitely been ups and downs associated with helping a small business get off the ground and grow. Moving to a much more suitable space with definitely be one of the more exciting events to happen so far.
