Hi!

Wow, I really was not ready for just how busy the month of June and the first part of July was going to be. I'm just going to run down a few of the highlights (and lowlights) --

Here's a run down of the last 2 months
  • Neverending Starbucks
  • Summer associate getting hit by a car while jaywalking during a firm-sponsored scavenger hunt (not kidding)
  • Wine tasting of Italian wines (NOT pinot grigio -- did you know that wines are named by their region in Italy and not the type of grape?)
  • Watching a summer associate from the DC office repeatedly call the director of attorney recruit by the wrong name until she had to correct him (it was late, he had had too many drinks....blame the hospitality suite)
  • Never having to pay for my own lunch at work. I literally have gone out to lunch every day at work and if I didn't have plans, I went down to the dining room at my firm and they paid for lunch.
  • Nikki and Hayes' wedding in Charleston (quote of the weekend: "I worked in a steel mill and it was not as hot there as it is here." (Charlie))
  • Watermelon Mojitos & John Dalys (i.e. Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka & Lemonade)
  • Joint Journal Competition grading (and teamreading and executive edits)
  • Sting at Chastain
  • Prickly Pear Margaritas & Blue Cornbread from Nava
  • The view of the 18th at the Ocean Course at Kiawah from the Grill
  • Susie Vader deciding to break down in Charleston on Saturday en route to my hot stone massage and losing the A/C (go back to Charlie's quote about the steel mill)
  • Waking up each morning for the last 3 weeks of my summer program feeling exhausted but not really sure why
  • Watching a former Rubik's-Cube-Champion-Turned-Pizza-Restaurant-Owner attempt to explain the algorithms behind solving the Rubik's Cube -- my head started to hurt
  • Getting up at 4:00 AM way too many times to drive to Atlanta, to Chapel Hill, to Williamsburg
  • Celebrating my 3rd anniversary with Hadley while Charlie had to work in Chapel Hill
  • Trying some great new restaurants in Atlanta, including Miller Union, Ra Sushi, Yeah! Burger, and Noon, and some old standbys (Blue Ridge Grill, Veni Vidi Vici, FarmBurger, Wisteria, and Tacqueria Del Sol)
I promise to do a better job of posting -- this summer just literally got away from me. I could barely keep up with e-mails.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend! Charlie's got the weekend off and we're heading to Busch Gardens!
