7 Sleeps 'Til Christmas!

I cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner. The past couple of days I have been Christmasing myself out. How can someone out-Christmas herself (especially one who loves the holidays so much)? This is how (note this all occurred over a 48 hour period):

1) Last minute Christmas shopping? Check.
2) Baking 8 batches of cookies, including gingerbread men (and women), sugar cookies, coconut pecan fingers (or "those little footballs," as my dad calls them), chattanooga choo-choos (my favorite), raspberry jam thumbprint cookies, and my first 2 sets of Nanaimo Bars (from a box and from scratch)? Check.
3) Wrapping said last minute Christmas shopping? Check.
4) Wrestling the Colonial Williamsburg traffic to find a parking space (don't you people spend the holidays with family!)? Check.
5) Hoping for snow? Check.

That said, I'm looking forward to the holidays. It's been a busy December for Charlie and me. Currently, Charlie is still working while Hadley and I are relaxing in front of the Christmas tree. Hopefully, he won't have to work this weekend. I'm going to get the house cleaned up and get us all packed up for Christmas this weekend.

Tonight, we're having an "end of exams" (3 days late) and holiday dinner with Mary Katherine & Gardner. We're doing a full-on fondue feast: cheese, meat and chocolate. I'll try to take some pictures.

Hooray for the holidays!
